On January 1, 2020, BC adopted the 2018 version of the Canadian Electrical Code (Part I, Twenty-fourth Edition, Safety Standard for Electrical Installations, CSA Standard C22.1-18). This version includes several changes to support electrical workers in the safe installation and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems. This course provides an in-depth overview of the 2018 Canadian Electrical Code and the changes to BC’s Acts and Regulations.

The course includes interpretations and applications of the code, as well as new definitions and tables. The Electrical Safety Regulation (section 10.1) now requires Class A, B or C Field Safety Representatives (FSRs) to complete 8 hours of continuing education before they can renew their certificate of qualification.
