Habitat for Humanity Canada and Electro-Federation Canada Come Together for a Day of Giving

HabitatForHumanityIn support of World Habitat Day, Electro-Federation Canada’s members are uniting for an EFC community Day of Giving. EFC’s charity of choice HFH committee chairman, Russ Morgan, IPEX, and the late vice-chair, Ian Merman, Liteline, together with John Jefkins, EFC, were driven by the generosity of members over the years and the urgent need which the pandemic has presented for Canadians to receive affordable homeownership.

The Electrical industry continues to make great strides in supporting the Habitat for Humanity mission and we are hoping that collectively we can do more this year. On Monday, October 4th, EFC members and their partners are encouraged to participate in raising $100,000.00 this fall. The concept is to dedicate one day in October to give back a small percentage or portion of a member company’s sales towards the “Day of Giving”. Or, it could be in the form of a cash donation of your choice not tied to any sales. Members who contribute $10,000 or more will qualify for a ‘team build’ day that helps bring your team together for a day of learning new handy skills to build a safe and reliable home for a local family. Most importantly, achieving this goal will help local families build strength, stability, and independence through affordable homeownership.

While Habitat is always looking for electrical products to be donated to their builds or ReStores, the concept behind the “Day of Giving” is to raise some much-needed cash to help buy land and cover other costs associated with building homes for those in need. Full details on EFC’s day of giving can be found here.

In this time of great need, donations will go to help open doors to a brighter future for families across Canada, families like Fiona’s, that make a world of difference.
