IPEX Donates to Support Clean Water Initiatives in Canada and US

April 26, 2024

IPEX joined the international community in recognizing World Water Day and our shared responsibility of achieving clean water and sanitation for all. This day encourages action to support The United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals on water and sanitation and to raise awareness of the 2.2 billion people worldwide living without access to safe water (WHO/UNICEF 2023).

As part of iCare, the company’s community investment and social impact program, IPEX is proud to announce a donation of $50,000 to two prominent water charities in North America. Both partnerships are a direct reflection of Aliaxis’ commitment to addressing water challenges and to accelerate access to clean water.

IPEX is collaborating with Water First’s Drinking Water Internship Program with a donation of $25,000 that will support young Indigenous interns to become certified water treatment plant operators. This program supports the next generation of Indigenous water treatment operators and helps address water challenges sustainably and for the long term.

Additionally, IPEX is partnering with DigDeep, a human rights non-profit working to provide every American with access to clean, running water. This year IPEX is joining forces with DigDeep’s World Water Day campaign, by donating $25,000 as a match sponsor. These funds will contribute to the improvement of water infrastructure and access to water in US communities.

“Water is a fundamental human right, and we believe we have an accountability as a socially responsible corporation, deeply rooted in the water business, to contribute to solving the world’s water challenges,” says Alex Mestres, Chief Executive Officer, Aliaxis Americas. “We are honoured to partner with Water First and DigDeep, to not only raise awareness on a day like today, but also to create meaningful difference for a prosperous tomorrow.”
