After almost 20 years of research, development and education in the wind power sector, the TechnoCentre éolien is expanding its horizons by incorporating solar PV and the integration of renewables into its service offering. The centre is marking this turning point with a name change to Nergica.

“We’re delighted to signal this turning point for our organization,” says Nergica General Manager Frédéric Côté. “Since the year 2000, we have developed and honed cutting-edge expertise, initially in wind power, which we later diversified. After wind, we added microgrids, storage, and solar, which together represent the core focus of Nergica, a centre for applied research that possesses all the tools, infrastructures and know-how necessary to support today’s energy transition.”

Drawing from its expertise in renewables, Nergica participates in commissions and working groups, in addition to representing Canada within expert groups of the International Energy Agency.
