Great Place

Phoenix Contact, BC’s Industry Training Authority, and Rittal Systems Ltd. are among the year’s “Best Workplaces in Canada,” an annual ranking compiled by the Great Place to Work Institute.

The list is the product of a competition process based on two criteria: two-thirds of the total score comes from confidential employee survey results, and the remaining one-third comes from an in-depth review of the organization’s culture. This offers a rigorous representation of the organization from an employee perspective, and an overall portrait of the workplace culture. Together, they provide crucial data relative to five trust-building dimensions: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.

Phoenix Contact Canada, ranked 22nd in the 1000+ employees category, designs and manufactures products and solutions for all aspects of electrical engineering and automation. The company is based in Milton, Ontario, and has regional offices in Calgary, Alberta and St-Laurent, Quebec.

The Industry Training Authority, ranked 48th in the 100-999 employees category, leads and coordinates BC’s skilled trades system. Located in Richmond, BC, ITA works with employers, employees, industry, labour, training providers and government to issue credentials, support apprenticeships, fund programs, set program standards, and increase opportunities in the trades.

Rittal Systems Ltd., 41st in the under 100 employees category, is part of a global enclosure manufacturing operation with offices in over 100 countries, and manufacturing facilities on 4 continents. Based in Mississauga, Ontario, the company has sales and distribution facilities in Montreal, Calgary and Richmond, BC.
