Lutron Electronics announced you can now easily include Vive Wireless as part of an Extron touchpanel solution. This collaboration brings simple, web-based API integration of its Vive Wireless lighting control to today’s smart-building projects. Now, facility managers can combine advanced lighting control with features such as room booking, A/V control of displays, plus other equipment from the convenience of their Extron touchpanel.

“At Lutron we are committed to simplifying smart-building control and elevating the lighting experience for specifiers and installers, as well as for the people in the space,” said Matt Ochs, Sr. Director Mid-Market Business, Lutron Electronics. “We are excited to work with Extron – a leader in A/V Technology – to bring Vive wireless lighting control together with touchpanel and A/V integration through the simplicity of a web-based API.”

During project design, the new Extron and Lutron integration helps to eliminate risk for engineers and designers who are reassured by the long-standing, trusted reputations of two industry icons. They can specify with confidence, knowing the integration will be seamless, and work as expected.

Contractors and integrators will appreciate the simple installation and setup – they can just use the same Vive hub they have installed for lighting control flexibility, and add the Extron processor and touchpanel – or vice versa. No extra components or complexities are required. Quick, frictionless integration helps them get on and off the job quickly, and results in a satisfied customer.

Combine all essential room functions in a single touchpanel interface

With the integration of Vive and Extron touchpanels, you can access even more smart features. A single press on the Extron touchscreen allows you to adjust your light level along with other A/V equipment in the room – enhancing the experience and flexibility of high value rooms like lecture halls, conference rooms, and restaurants. In addition, the Vive Wireless system can provide data such as occupancy status to the Extron control system to indicate real-time meeting space availability and status. Designing the touchpanel control is simple. The Extron processor sends commands to the Vive Wireless hub via web-based API. The hub then communicates to Vive Wireless load controls to ensure a responsive lighting control experience as part of the smart-building solution.
