Canadian Standards Association has announced it’s now a distributor of the National Model Codes, user guides, and commentaries published by the National Research Council of Canada (NRC).

The National Building Code (NBC), the National Fire Code (NFC), the National Plumbing Code (NPC), and the National Energy Code for Buildings (NECB), known collectively as the National Model Codes, reference numerous CSA Group standards.

“For over 100 years, CSA Group has produced standards behind the design, safety, sustainability and efficiency of buildings and infrastructure. Many CSA standards are referenced in legislation and national codes helping to safeguard human life and contribute to the progressive improvement of the construction industry.” – Mary Cianchetti, President, CSA Standards

The National Model Codes documents are published and distributed by the NRC – Canada’s largest federal research and development organization – on behalf of the Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes which develops the technical content.

The NBC, the NFC, the NPC, and the NECB are available free of charge in electronic format through the CSA Store or the NRC Virtual Store. This also includes the Alberta editions of the fire and building codes. Paper copies of the codes and guides are available at a reduced cost. CSA Subscription Collections are also available with codes and referenced documents from CSA Group in one place for easy and convenient access.
