Agents of Change 2022: The Power of Change on October 12-13 at the Toronto Reference Library

EIN Agents of Change 22 400

August 16, 2022

Agents of Change is a two-day event focused on equipping attendees with the tools they need to address the challenges under-represented groups face in the workplace. Women, Indigenous people, racialized people, persons with disabilities, LGBTQQIP2SAA, and newcomers to Canada are under-represented in electricity and often face systemic barriers. We have the power to change this disparity and transform our sector.

Agents of Change is designed to encourage interaction and collaboration, with a setting for stakeholders at all levels to reflect on their experiences and draw inspiration for the journey ahead. Supported by employers across Canada, this event consists of a robust line-up of excellent speakers, leaders from the electricity and renewable energy industry with lived experiences, and participants who are committed to sharing their experiences and strategies to create an inclusive workplace.

SPEAKER SPOTLIGHT – ACCESSIBLE WORKPLACES: SUPPORTING PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES IN-PERSON AND ONLINE WITH MARCO PASQUA

Marco Pasqua is an award-winning Entrepreneur, Accessibility Consultant and Inspirational Speaker with Cerebral Palsy. As an Accessibility and Inclusion Consultant, he has worked with some of BC’s biggest change-driven business leaders who are champions for more accessible, inclusive workplaces. It’s through these experiences that he is helping to pave the way for all Canadians to have universal access to the programs, services and places that they live, work and play.

This presentation will provide team members, managers and senior executives with a better understanding of how to communicate, support and ultimately work with people with various types of disabilities. Marco will share some of his personal lived experiences as a person with a disability in the workforce and include specific tips on how to navigate some of the barriers that have been introduced; particularly when it comes to some of the protocols that have been implemented, both in-person and online.
