There is a clear and open movement toward automating Canada’s industrial sectors to gain more efficient and sustainable operations. At the heart of much of that automation implementation is the industrial control panel.
Among 265 job postings for electricians in six Canadian jurisdications, BC represents 42% — 1.5 times the number of postings in Quebec and 2.5 times the number in Ontario. Not included: industrial and power systems related jobs, or jobs in AB (2), MB (1), NL (1), and NT, NU, PEI, and YT (0).
Enmax Power Corporation, an Alberta-based utility, was facing more frequent and longer power interruptions, causing its reliability rating from the Canadian Electricity Association to slide toward the third quartile.
The Industrial Internet Consortium, now incorporating OpenFog, announces the Security Maturity Model (SMM) Practitioner’s Guide, which provides detailed actionable guidance enabling IoT stakeholders to assess and manage the security maturity of IoT systems.
