In 2018, the Canadian Electrical Code (CE Code) was revised so that liquid-tight flexible metal conduits (LFMC) and fittings used in certain hazardous locations are required to be “heavy-duty” (HD) certified.
Institutional projects took a big lead in 2015, followed by commercial projects. Industrial/manufacturing, residential accommodation and hotels all retreated a little.
It is important to understand the difference between these three standards because they are all used to determine the performance metrics on the label, including the optional lumen maintenance metric.
Green building in Canada has reached a significant milestone, as the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) reports that Canadian LEED certified projects have now led to a cumulative reduction of over one million tonnes of CO2e in greenhouse gas emissions — the equivalent of taking 238,377 cars off the road for a year…
