Support is something that all businesses have needed over the last couple years, whether that is support in gaining access to much needed supplies and components, or support in moving along projects. Throughout all of it, Rittal has continued to be a strong support. and driving force for its partners, in Canada and around the world.

André Bousette, President of Rittal Systems Ltd, Canada, notes how the people and support of the company are a continued driver of their success. “Rittal completed 25 years of commitment to Canada right at the start of the pandemic. That dedication and passion to serve our customers with the same standards of efficiency, motivated our entire team to adapt to the crisis, and keep up the same levels of productivity whether working remotely in the case of our Support staff, or working on-site in the case of our Warehouse staff, of course, always observing the PPE requirements. Our Covid-19 protection measures permitted us to have a zero-case count, we never had to slow down. Even though working remotely was a challenge, our staff did everything necessary to be there for our customers. I am extremely proud of the way that our team has come together to continue our tradition of customer excellence.”

Here in Canada, Rittal staff, including those manning the warehouse and modification centre have been working consistently, while of course employing all necessary safety measures. It is the devotion of the Rittal staff and focus on supporting their customers that contributed to Rittal being named one of the Top 10 Workplaces in Manufacturing in Canada in 2020.

Jonas Zelisko, Operations Director, Rittal Systems Ltd., reinforced this: Our Canadian modification center really sets us apart with our state-of-the-art equipment. It’s where the magic happens: we pre-drill and cut-out everything directly on the Rittal Perforex machining centre before we ship the panels to their customers. Our team has been there all through the crisis, day after day, and in fact, we deliver an average of about 500 mods in 100 days to our customers! Rittal also enhanced Supply Chain efficiency and streamlined product consumption by installing Fastenal Canada’s automated vending machines in our warehouse. This marked an end to over-consumption, obsolete inventory, redundant purchasing, and introduced a new era of expedited ordering, automated controls and reporting. With fewer materials consumed and carbon emissions produced, it’s a cleaner, greener world at Rittal!”

Gordon Bruce, Supply Chain Manager, Rittal Systems Ltd., added, “At Rittal, we pride ourselves in being the most collaborative supply chain team: from the RFQ to purchasing, plus data management, procurement and distribution Centre activities, we support our commitment to fast and excellent service. This attitude has not changed all through the crisis, which has helped us to keep morale high and business soaring.”

Abhinav Shetty, Warehouse Supervisor, Rittal Systems Ltd., also noted, “Our Warehouse Team is always on hand to receive deliveries from all over the world, ensure that we are always well stocked and organized, and that our customers’ orders go out on time to all parts of Canada. We are always proud of our team that has been reporting to work daily all through the crisis and have been responsible for the smooth running of our business!”

There is no question that the team at Rittal Canada has gone above and beyond in ensuring they continue to support their clients across Canada and ensure businesses can continue to operate.

However, Rittal has not only supported Canadians with their efforts to maintain smooth and easy operations. They have also gone above and beyond and focused on supporting solutions to current situations. Rittal and EPLAN assisted Valiant and partners (Shelley Automation, Electra-Tech, San-Tron, Siemens, Machine Guard & Cover, Universal Fabricating, and numerous others) to design a Covid-10 respirator. You can read more about this project and the support Rittal provided here.

On a final note, one of the most important things that many of us attempted to hold on to throughout the last couple years has been a semblance on consistency or pre-Covid normalcy. And throughout this, Rittal has maintained that consistency through its messaging, annual promotions, such as their Summer Cooling Promo, and events such as the German Technology Day. The event in 2020 was held virtually but carried with it many of the same elements as the live event and was hosted by Rittal, EPLAN, PILZ, WAGO, MurrElektronik and Bosch Rexroth. The theme of the event was ‘Collaboration and Connectivity’ and resulted in enhancing awareness throughout the industry. For more information on this event, go here.

Ensuring that resources are still being provided to clients and staying out front and ensuring they continue to see Rittal’s presence, has also been a big part of the support they have provided.

Sandra Abuwalla, Marketing Lead for Rittal in Canada details the importance of being present to the industry: “Marketing is really vital during a crisis such as this, as now more than ever, the company needs to have a voice on-line, through social media and continuous communication with our customers. Rittal and its German partners successfully executed German Technology Day 2020 virtually, that resulted in us increasing our audience almost 5-fold and spreading our message of ‘Collaboration & Connectivity’ even further. As the crisis continues, we have decided to expand our successful GTD event to Montreal this year and hold a hybrid virtual & live event in Toronto. To top it all, we were honoured to have won two prestigious Electro-Federation Canada Marketing Excellence awards during the crisis!”

Rittal has clearly maintained its long-standing philosophy of support and partnerships throughout the industry that are focused on providing enhanced services and reliability. It is strong commitment to each other and among partnerships that are seeing us all through current situations and will being us out stronger on the other side.
