Ontario is partnering with Hammond Manufacturing to expand production at its Guelph plant, creating 55 new jobs and retaining 324 positions over five years.

With $1.5 million in support from the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund, Hammond Manufacturing will upgrade the process it uses to make metallic and non-metallic enclosures that are used to protect electrical control panels from dust, oil and water. The company will invest in automated equipment to help it expand production and become more efficient. The project also includes energy saving upgrades and water recycling investments.

“We are proud to partner with the government of Ontario on this project, which will continue our company’s legacy of excellence in Guelph. This investment supports our efforts to improve our processes and systems, which will help us to continue to offer exceptional products for our customers worldwide,” stated Alex Stirling, CFO Hammond Manufacturing.

“Our government is pleased to partner with Hammond Manufacturing, to expand their business in Ontario and enhance the competitiveness of their Guelph facility,” stated Brad Duguid, Minister of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure. “This investment will generate substantial economic activity and ensure Hammond Manufacturing remains a significant economic driver and employer in the Guelph area.”
