Stelpro Launches Ki — a New Line of Connected Products for the Smart Home

Stelpro Ki

Feb 26, 2016

Ki, the first product in Stelpro’s new line of connected products for the smart home, is a 4,000W line voltage thermostat manufactured entirely in Quebec. It’s the first line voltage thermostat distributed on the North American market to use Z-Wave technology.

“For Stelpro, the Ki smart home thermostat represents a new development path and is part of a wide range of products that ensure home comfort,” says Yves Chabot, President of Stelpro. Developed by Stelpro’s Innovation and Product Development team.

Unveiled at the CES 2016 (Consumer Electronic Show) in Las Vegas last month, the new Ki line thermostat for the smart home controls baseboards and convectors, uses wireless Z-Wave technology, and requires a Z-Wave terminal that links the various devices and enables them to communicate with each other.Ki is the Japanese word for universal energy.

The thermostat for the smart home can easily be integrated into the Z-Wave environment. Using your smartphone, tablet or computer, it allows you to

• adjust the temperature of each of your home’s rooms from a distance
• adjust various modes of energy management, thus increasing home energy efficiency
• activate scenes, setting in motion several actions such as adjusting temperature and lighting, activating safety and entertainment systems and others

The Z-Wave thermostat is an affordable and easy to use product that makes life easier for those who use it. It is available in more than 70 electrical distribution outlets in Quebec.

The Ki line thermostat is already getting a great deal of interest from distributors, in both Quebec and the rest of Canada, as well as on the American side.

Since 1981, Stelpro has offered a unique line of efficient and innovative heating products, thermostats, heating cables and HVAC, designed and manufactured in Quebec and meeting the highest quality standards in the industry. The company employs over 400 people in two manufacturing plants, one located in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville and the other in Grand-Mère. It manufactures and sells over 800,000 heating units annually (baseboards, convectors and others), making it the North American leader in the electric heating industry. In 2014, Stelpro made the list of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies. Find out more: www.stelpro.com.
