IPEX launches Innovative Scepter JBox to North American Market

May 27, 2016

IPEX, a leading supplier of thermoplastic piping systems, is now introducing the innovative Scepter JBox to North America. Recognizing an opportunity to innovate and make improvements to the standard junction box, IPEX gathered additional insights from market research, voice of customer roundtables, and in-field shadowing of electrical contractors. These valuable insights led IPEX to create a solution that meets market needs, ranging from increased interior space and improved strength to ease of installation and durability.

“We started with the belief that our products should evolve in ways that make our customers’ jobs easier,” says Alex Mestres, CEO of IPEX. “The Scepter JBox embodies a significant amount of innovation and forward thinking to challenge the status quo. We’re very pleased that our North American customers are excited about the new generation of junction boxes being created for them.”

The contractor-friendly Scepter JBox was re-engineered to include the following:

  • patented leak-free gasket that meets a range of NEMA ratings is integrated into the cover so no installation is required
  • corrosion-resistant, “close-by-hand – tool-assist to open” fasteners means no more loose screws to replace and only one hand needed to position and secure the cover
  • flat, smooth cover feature, free of any supporting ribs, for mounting of devices or labels
  • increased volume capacity – the largest in the industry
  • embossed gridlines for easy reference to drill knockouts and makes conduit alignment a snap
  • moulded mounting feet on all four corners offers improved strength and makes them easily accessible to power Tools
  • PVC body that is extremely resistant to impact in a wide range of temperatures, and is not adversely affected by water or chemicals
