Legrand Adds New Steriguard Anti-Bacterial Devices to IEC 309 Product Line

September 28, 2016

Legrand’s SteriGuard anti-bacterial line of plugs, connectors and cord are designed to help prevent the outbreak of any dangerous bacteria, especially in the food and beverage industry.

“SteriGuard is a watertight, anti-bacterial line of plugs, connectors, and cord sets that was designed to inhibit the growth of bacteria to prevent food-borne illnesses such as e-coli and salmonella by 99%,” says Trevor Gardner, Legrand Product Manager. “The antimicrobial additives are embedded in the product and will help the food and beverage industry avoid outbreaks of dangerous bacteria.”

The new anti-bacterial products are impact, heat, and weather resistant, as well as rated for use with NEMA 4, 4X, 6, 6P enclosures. SteriGuard is a cost-effective, adaptive option that is currently unparalleled in the electrical market today, offering customers the highest level of safety from hazardous bacteria.

The SteriGuard line of products provides a higher cost-efficient value compared to standard industrial products as they have a lower maintenance cost, offer near-zero downtime, and help avoid the costly ramifications were there to be an outbreak.
