On the occasion of its 41st Centraide fund-raising campaign, Hydro-Québec donated over $5.9 million to Centraide, $200,000 more than last year. This was made possible thanks to the generous participation of its employees and retirees.

One of Québec’s biggest donors
“Over more than 40 years, Hydro-Québec, our employees and our retirees have donated close to $125 million to Centraide. For them, the Centraide campaign represents an opportunity to invest in their community and show social solidarity,” said Éric Martel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hydro-Québec. These donations have gone to over 1,500 organizations throughout Québec, many of them helping young people succeed or providing assistance to low-income families.

“We would like to thank all the Hydro-Québec employees and retirees whose generosity has enabled us once again to surpass our campaign goal. Providing support to hundreds of thousands of people fighting poverty and social exclusion is something we believe in,” said Michael D. Penner, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hydro-Québec and co-chair of the Centraide campaign for the third year in a row.

“We would also like to recognize the work and commitment shown by the ambassadors and union representatives who helped make Hydro-Québec’s 41st Centraide campaign a success,” added Yan Gaudet, president of Hydro-Québec’s network employees union (SERHQ) and co-chair of the company’s Centraide campaign.
