The awards recognize individuals and organizations that demonstrate exceptional leadership, achievement, or innovation in technical safety.

These two members of BC’s electrical industry — an individual and a company — have earned awards:

• Dale Risvold – Exceptional Contribution To Technical Safety — Contractor. Risvold is Field Safety Representative and Branch Manager, Canem Systems Ltd. Through a career spanning nearly 40 years, he has promoted electrical safety through safe electrical installations and has shared his expertise with the younger generation as they join the industry. Operating from BC to Ontario, Canem (Canadian Electrical and Mechanical) began as a multi-trade company almost 60 years ago.

• Western Pacific Enterprises – Data & Digital Technology in Technical Safety. As a commercial and industrial electrical contractor, WPE leverages collaboration software to record safety stats throughout its work sites and uses the data to mitigate re-occurrence, enabling employees to work across the organization to make safety a top priority. WPE is one of BC’s largest electrical contractors.

The awards will be presented by Janet Austin, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, on November 7, 2018 in Vancouver. Purchase tickets here: www.technicalsafetybc.ca/lieutenant-governor-safety-awards
