Kyle Seymour, President and CEO of S&C Electric Co., has recently announced that he will transition into retirement over the next several months. Effective May 1, 2020 Anders Sjoelin will assume the role of President and CEO while Mr. Seymour moves to a Senior Executive Advisor position to support a seamless leadership transition. Stability of top leadership is a hallmark of S&C, and the Board of Directors has been deeply involved in ensuring a smooth transition. Mr. Sjoelin, the Board’s unanimous choice to succeed Mr. Seymour, is just the fifth top executive in the company’s 109-year history.

Before joining S&C, Mr. Sjoelin was the Regional Managing Director for Power Grids in North America at ABB, a company where he enjoyed a nearly thirty-year career and held a variety of senior-level management positions in power systems, grid systems, and transmission and distribution businesses in North America, Spain, and Brazil as well as at the corporate headquarters in Switzerland. He is exceptionally qualified to lead S&C’s next chapter as the company provides innovative solutions to the challenges facing today’s and tomorrow’s power grid.

Mr. Sjoelin said of his decision to join S&C, “I’ve long respected S&C as a market-leading company with unique technical capabilities and opportunities, based on its great reputation for innovation, customer focus, strong manufacturing, and a values-based culture. I’m excited by the opportunity to join S&C and lead its outstanding team to continuing success in our rapidly changing industry.”

Mr. Seymour successfully led S&C during a time of significant change in the electric industry. The company saw its best year ever in 2019, and its product lineup is well positioned to capitalize on emerging industry trends. Mr. Seymour has been a Board Member of S&C since 2010, and was appointed as President in 2013 and CEO in 2015.
