Hilo, the Hydro-Québec subsidiary specializing in new energy services, is launching its smart home service. This Hilo smart energy offer will allow Quebecers to easily optimize their electricity consumption and save on their bills while receiving cash rewards.

Adapted to the needs of each household, the Hilo connected home allows its customers to control various smart devices in their home from a mobile application and thus save time and comfort. Customers will be able to choose from several devices: thermostats, a gateway, light bulbs, outlets, dimmers, switches, smoke detectors and weather station. Other products will be added later.

Challenges that pay off and energy savings

During certain peak winter consumption periods, customers will be invited to take on the Hilo challenges. These challenges aim to lower the temperature of the thermostats by a few degrees for a short period of time.Depending on their level of participation, customers will receive a cash reward averaging between $ 90 and $ 100 per customer per winter.

In addition, customers who live in a single-family home can anticipate overall annual energy savings of up to 15%, depending on their level of participation in challenges, the characteristics of their home, their energy consumption habits and equipment replaced.

Generous discounts on the purchase of equipment and a special introductory offer

Hilo offers discounts of up to 20% for thermostats and up to 30% for other products. A walkway (valued at $ 140) and device installation (valued at $ 400) are offered free of charge to customers who commit to the Hilo challenges.

In addition, as part of the special launch offer, a $ 100 rebate will be offered to the first 3,500 Hilo customers.

A local initiative for a greener Quebec

Hilo’s partner network is made up of several Quebec companies, such as StelproThis link will open a new window This link leads outside the Hydro-Québec site. and SynapseThis link will open a new window This link leads outside the Hydro-Québec site. . For example, the thermostats offered by Hilo are developed in Quebec by a joint venture born from an association between Hilo and StelproThis link will open a new window This link leads outside the Hydro-Québec site. and are manufactured in one of the Stelpro Group factories in Shawinigan.
