The 2018 Canadian Electrical Code, Part I contains many critical updates and major changes that are potentially significant to your business. This course is designed to provide you with a detailed update on the changes contained in the 2018 Canadian Electrical Code and the changes to BC’s Acts and Regulations. By focusing on these changes, this course will help you save valuable time to help keep your electrical projects safe and in compliance.

This course satisfies the Electrical Safety Regulation (section 10.1) requirement for Class A, B or C Field Safety Representatives (FSRs) to complete 8 hours of continuing education before they can renew their certificate of qualification. FSRs should renew their certification on or before the expiry date listed on their wallet cards. 

Learning Objectives

  • Explain the BC Electrical Code adoption process
  • Identify the changes in the Acts and Regulations, including changes to:
    • Safety Standards Act
    • Safety Standards General Regulations
    • Electrical Safety Regulation
  • Describe the high and medium impact 2018 BC Electrical Code changes
