Bartle & Gibson’s Greg Stephenson Elected Board Chair of AD Electrical – Canada

February 15, 2024

Greg Stephenson, senior vice-president, electrical of Bartle & Gibson has been elected as AD Electrical – Canada’s new board chair.

Drawing upon his three decades of invaluable industry experience within the electrical sector, in this new role Stephenson is poised to lead a board of eight individuals as the group offers guidance and shares specialized industry insights, with the committed goal of helping AD Electrical – Canada further grow and thrive. As the newly elected chairperson, Stephenson will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the division.

Prior to being named board chair, Stephenson served on the AD Electrical – Canada board for three years. He has also lent his expertise to a number of industry associations, participating as a director and the board president of Alberta Electrical Alliance, and as a member of Electro-Federation Canada’s national board. Through his 10-year tenure at Bartle & Gibson, a leading independent electrical and plumbing distributor serving Western Canada, Stephenson has established a robust foundation of leadership and specialized industry knowledge. His significant contributions to Bartle & Gibson, the AD Electrical – Canada board, and industry association boards underscore his dedication to advancing the electrical industry through a myriad of avenues.

Stephenson shared his sentiments on being named AD Electrical – Canada’s new board chair.

“The AD Electrical – Canada board is comprised of such great leaders and to be chosen to serve as the chair is a tremendous honour,” relayed Stephenson. “We have a very committed board of directors, and contributions come from all members. I would like to acknowledge Peter Dalton’s leadership as he has left big shoes for me to fill! Peter was always highly engaged and had the interests of AD at heart. I truly hope I can continue to lead the board in that manner and persist in contributing to our group, drawing upon my own experience and knowledge of our great industry.”

In light of Stephenson’s new position, the AD Electrical – Canada board bids a heartfelt farewell to outgoing board chair, Peter Dalton, president of Daltco Electric. Serving on this board for 11 years, and as the board’s chairperson for just over three years, Dalton’s resounding impacts within AD, as well as within the industry at large, will endure for years to come.

Dalton reflected on his time on the AD Electrical – Canada board, expressing his appreciation for the positive impacts the group made throughout his time in the industry.

“My involvement with AD has been one of the greatest joys of my professional life,” said Dalton. “The relationships that I have built with members, other board members, and AD staff have truly enriched my experience in the electrical industry. AD in my mind, has always been an essential ingredient for success as an independent. I have tremendous faith in the AD team and the board moving forward, and I know that Greg will serve as a wonderful leader for the group. I heartily thank the AD community for all it’s done for me, and I wish the group every success moving forward.”

Rob Dewar, president of AD Canada, extended his thanks to both Stephenson and Dalton as this transition ensues.

“I extend my deepest gratitude for Peter Dalton’s skilled guidance over the past number of years—his valuable contributions will surely live on within our group, as will his incredible legacy of partnership and friendship,” communicated Dewar. “As we welcome Greg, I couldn’t be more excited to have him step up to fill this important position of leadership within AD Electrical – Canada. I am confident his impressive experience and commitment to excellence will further enhance our division and promote its continued success.”
