Lumen Recognized for their Commitment to Sustainable Practices

April 23, 2024

Lumen is proud to announce that it has been honored by Ecovadis with a prestigious silver medal. This award recognizes Lumen’s ongoing efforts to integrate sustainable practices into its operations and its unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility.

Ecovadis is a globally recognized assessment platform that provides sustainability ratings for companies. It focuses on assessing the environmental, social, and ethical performance of companies as well as their supply chains. The goal of Ecovadis is to encourage companies to adopt more sustainable practices by providing them with objective and reliable evaluations, which can then be used to improve their policies and practices in corporate social responsibility (CSR).

The Ecovadis assessment system is based on a methodology that covers a wide range of sustainability criteria, divided into four main themes:

  • Environment: Assesses how a company minimizes its environmental impact. Evaluated aspects include waste management, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, energy and water consumption, and biodiversity.
  • Social: Examines practices related to human rights, labor, and working conditions. This includes assessing working conditions, respect for employees’ rights, health and safety at work, and managing relations with local communities.
  • Business Ethics: Focuses on preventing corruption, fraud, and unfair business practices. This includes policies and measures in place to ensure ethical conduct in all company operations.
  • Sustainable Procurement: Evaluates how a company integrates social and environmental considerations into its supply chain. This concerns the selection of suppliers, evaluating their sustainability performance, and managing associated risks.

“This Earth Day, Lumen commits to continuing its efforts towards a greener future, continuing to innovate and implement sustainable solutions that benefit the company, its customers, and the planet alike. We invite our partners, clients, and the community at large to join us in this commitment, because together, we can make a significant difference,” the company said on their website.
