Southwire Announces Investment in Condoit

April 26, 2024

In support of Southwire’s focus on strategic growth, the company is pleased to announce an investment in Condoit, a software platform for electrical design, analysis and collaboration.

Condoit, based in Birmingham, Ala., has developed a software application to dramatically simplify the process of documenting “as-built” drawings of electrical systems. Condoit’s software aids in the design of new electrical projects, with a current focus on EV charging installations. Condoit has implemented a simplified workflow, allowing electricians to leverage labor at all experience levels.

“We are excited about the investment in such an innovative software tool for contractors that streamlines the site takeoff to install process,” said Bill Fowler, business development manager at Southwire. “Being able to combine what normally takes three software packages into one will help contractors streamline and standardize their workflows.”

“Southwire is committed to being a leader in jobsite efficiency and safety, and we are excited to support Condoit in their efforts to simplify and automate routine jobsite tasks,” said Norman Adkins, Southwire’s Chief Operating Officer. “Condoit’s support of EV charging installation aligns well with Southwire’s focus on sustainability and electric mobility. We are excited to partner with Condoit to help accelerate the buildout of our nation’s EV infrastructure.”

“This strategic investment from Southwire represents their commitment to the future of the electrical industry,” said Ian Hoppe, CEO & Founder of Condoit. “Southwire is undoubtedly a leader in cable and wire manufacturing, but they’re also a leader in innovation and forward-thinking technologies for electricians. Condoit is proud and thrilled to have them as a strategic partner and can’t wait to see what we can do together in the future.”

Condoit joins a portfolio of investments managed by the Southwire Technology Ventures team. This team collaborates with pioneering startups to build the future of smart power within the realms of smart buildings, electric mobility and the grid of the future.
