Panduit Boosts PDU Offerings with Worldwide Release of G6 Series

July 29, 2024

Panduit is pleased to announce the global release of its G6 PDU Series. The innovative G6 line marries the best-in-class form factor of the G5 Series with an upgraded intelligence card to bring faster performance along with new functions and cybersecurity improvements to customers.

Among the main features of the G6 PDU is its low-profile design that saves rack space while increasing airflow. The device, which provides 128 times the memory of the G5, also offers industry-leading outlet density and the ability to daisy chain up to 32 PDUs. It is compatible with C13/C15 and C13/C15/C19/C21 combination outlets and its hot-swappable network controller boasts Dual 1G network ports, high visibility OLED, two sensor ports, a serial port and quick navigation and access buttons.

“The Panduit G6 range of PDUs are the first PDUs in their class to offer a USGv6 certified IPV6 networking stack, which is a significant step forward in cybersecurity at a data center appliance level,” says Dipin Jain, the senior product manager of Panduit Power Solutions. “The G6 PDU series shows our commitment to bringing secure solutions to the marketplace.”

More than simply a power distribution unit and energy monitoring device, the G6 PDU monitors the power and environment at the rack or cabinet level by continuously scanning for electrical circuit overloads and physical environmental conditions that place critical IT equipment at risk. G6 PDUs provide comprehensive, accurate, energy measurement data to efficiently use power resources, improve uptime, measure power usage effectiveness and drive green data center initiatives to save energy and money.

“The G6 PDU features more than 85 SKUs and with the ability to engineer-to-order and configure-to-order it is without question a significant offer in the marketplace,” says Dennis Waszak, the director of product management and engineering at Panduit. “Our G6 PDU shows a strong commitment to safe and efficient data center operation as well as fulfilling mission-critical data center needs.”
