Optimum Control Cabinet Lighting Supports Safe Working and Prevents Wiring Errors

March 21, 2025

Phoenix Contact is extending its portfolio with the new universal AC enclosure lights with integrated socket. The lights in the PLD E 708 product family cover a wide range of applications in almost all control cabinets worldwide. This is due to the wide AC input voltage range of 100 V AC to 240 V AC.

The lights are each equipped with a country-specific socket. A type F version is used in many European countries, including in Germany. There is also the type E version for countries such as France and Belgium. A type B socket and UL approval for the USA will follow in the course of this year. The built-in optics ensure optimum and glare-free illumination of the control cabinet with 1400 lm with a low power consumption of just 11 W. The color temperature is 5000 K (neutral white). Furthermore, the lights have a PIR motion detector. The connection is made via GST15i device connectors. For mounting, the lights in the control cabinet profile can be snapped into place, screwed into place or, as an option, secured to the control cabinet panel using magnets. Cable holders also simplify mounting.

PLD E 708 lights are the right choice whenever an enclosure light is required in combination with a socket, for example for connecting to a measuring device or notebook. The new lights, together with the lights from the PLD E 409 series, round out Phoenix Contact’s portfolio of enclosure lights. They also cover the DC voltage range.
