2024 Canadian Electrical Red Seal Practice Exam Online Tool

May 29, 2026

This subscription from CSA gives you 1-year access to the (CEPE) online study tool.

To perform their trade in Canada, construction electricians must pass the Red Seal Exam. If you want to improve your chances of Red Seal exam success, this web-based tool with over 2,400 questions can help you test your knowledge and build confidence before taking the exam.

You can use the CEPE as a self-study resource, to practice for the Red Seal Exam, or simulate the exam as many times as you want. Test questions are selected randomly each time you use the tool. Plus, your practice exam report will show the correct answers, highlight any relevant code requirements, and direct you to additional resources to help you improve.

Highlights include:

  • Aligned with the 2024 CE code, incorporating enhancements to the rationale and updates to the references.
  • Three exam modes: self-study, exam practice, and exam simulation
  • A refreshed set of questions offered each time – no limit on the number of tests you can take
  • A 4-hour timer allows you to practice a ‘reality’ test against the clock to measure your success
  • Save and resume functionality so you can pick up where you left off
  • Audio feature for those who prefer a listening mode.
  • Wrong answer report that shows you the right solution, highlights any relevant code requirements, and directs you to the right resources to help you improve
  • Progress dashboard and awards/badges to track your success and motivate you to perform
  • Images, figures, and tables displayed in the question
  • Focus on blocks, tasks, and sub-tasks as specified in the Red Seals Occupational Analysis for the Construction Electrician.

The questions in the CEPE check your understanding of the 2024 Canadian Electrical Code, Part I concepts, as well as other electrical concepts covered in the Red Seal Occupational Standard for construction electricians including:

  • Block A – Occupational Skills (6 tasks)
  • Block B – Distribution and Services (9 tasks)
