IMARK Canada, a member owned and governed marketing group serving the Canadian electrical and lighting distribution market has entered into a strategic alliance with OCTO Purchasing Group. Under the terms of the alliance, OCTO’s management team, Group 4CB, led by Claude Beaulac, will provide a local-based presence for the IMARK Canada organization and assist in the management and growth of the IMARK Canada organization.

Both IMARK Canada and OCTO Purchasing Group continue to grow in a challenging marketplace. IMARK Canada, established in September 2013 now includes 20 members and has formal relationships with 63 leading manufacturers. OCTO, founded in 1982, has 66 members with more than 260 outlets in 8 distinct industries (plumbing, HVAC/R, waterworks, pumps, fire protection, pipe, valve and fitting, industrial safety, and retail).

According to Bob Smith, President and CEO of IMARK Group, “We are excited to join forces with OCTO as we support distributors that seek organizational transparency, high returns, and the opportunity to be part of a member owned and member governed marketing group.”

OCTO Purchasing Group President Roy Byrne said, “This strategic alliance offers the OCTO Purchasing Group (the largest organization of its kind in Canada) and IMARK Canada the ability to share best practices, synergies, and members as well as the opportunity to expand to other business segments.”
