PowerStream Named “Greater Toronto’s Top Employer’ for 5th Consecutive Year

Energy company PowerStream has been recognized by Mediacorp Canada for its outstanding employee engagement and satisfaction.PowerStream earned this recognition for programs that support and benefit employees, including vanpool/carpool commuting, wellness programs, regular staff communications through e-newsletters and digital channels, encouraging fitness club memberships, an onsite cafeteria with healthy food choices, and flexible work hours.

PowerStream recently received several other accolades for the support it provides to employees, including the “Smart Commute Regional Employer of the Year Award” for the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area, Gold Recipient of “Canada’s Safest Employers Award” in the Wellness category, and Silver Recipient in the Utilities and Electrical category.

As a community-owned company, PowerStream is also committed to the ongoing employee development, offering a variety of in-house and online training courses, apprenticeships, cooperative education opportunities, as well as subsidies for tuition and professional accreditations.

PowerStream is a community-owned energy company that provides power and related services to more than 375,000 customers residing or owning a business in communities located immediately north of Toronto and in Central Ontario. It is jointly owned by the Cities of Barrie, Markham and Vaughan.

The annual Greater Toronto Top Employers’ competition, now in its 11th year, recognizes companies that are leaders in their industries and who offer the most forward-thinking and progressive programs in areas such as community involvement, training and skills development, performance management and benefits packages.
