CEA Appoints Altalink President and CEO Association Chair

Scott Thon, President and CEO of AltaLink, is now Chair of the Canadian Electricity Association. Thon has held senior positions in the Canadian electricity industry for over 30 years, and has served as AltaLink’s President and CEO since 2002. He has been an active member of the Canadian Electricity Association and has served on its Board of Directors since 2004.

“I look forward to working with fellow directors and staff of CEA at this time of great change for our industry,” says Thon. “Together we will ensure our industry continues to produce and deliver reliable and safe electricity while assisting our country in charting a greener future for all Canadians.”
Thon is also a Director on the Board of Alberta Blue Cross, a past Chair of the Bow Valley College Board of Governors and of the United Way of Calgary and serves as a member of the Canadian Athletic Foundation Board of Trustees. ”

Sergio Marchi, President and CEO of CEA, extended a special thanks to outgoing Chair Anthony Haines, CEO of Toronto Hydro.
