Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) and its members have launched the 2016 scholarship program, providing $136,000 in financial support to Canadian university and college students. Now in its 21st year, 53 scholarships will be awarded this September. Since inception the program has funded Canadian university and college students’ education with over $1 million. It’s one of the largest scholarship programs in Canada. Deadline for the 2016 program: May 31, 2016.

In addition to financial support, many scholarships offer employment and career opportunities with EFC member companies. The electrical and electronics industries offer great jobs, competitive salaries and benefits, plus aggressive careers paths in a sector demonstrating cutting-edge innovation. Canadian university and college students are shown the electrical industry as a viable career choice in engineering, sales, marketing, finance, management, operations, information technology and human resources.

“This scholarship program addresses the need to engage bright young talent in our industry and to demonstrate the Canadian electrical industry as a viable career choice,” says Joris Myny, Chair of the 2016 EFC Scholarship Program and Senior Vice President, Digital Factory and Process Industries & Drives Divisions, Siemens Canada.

“It also provides an opportunity for students to interact with EFC members and learn about innovation in our industry,” says John Jefkins, Vice President, Marketing & Communications, EFC. “This is a great initiative for EFC members to promote in their organizations, encouraging their employees with children in university and college to apply for these scholarships. It also provides a strong corporate social responsibility component for these participating companies.”

The EFC Scholarship Program delivers a wide-range of offerings from manufacturers, distributors and associations. Students are encouraged to explore all scholarship opportunities and apply at https://efcscholarship.fluidreview.com/
