The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure has awarded the contract for the construction of a new school for Kenmount Terrace. Olympic Construction Limited has been awarded a contract valued at $41.9 million for the new facility which will include pre-kindergarten to Grade 7 in English and French streams.

The Honourable Elvis Loveless, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure; the Honourable Bernard Davis, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development; and the Honourable Sarah Stoodley, Minister of Government Modernization and Service Delivery and MHA for Mount Scio, were on site today to mark the official groundbreaking.

It will include 43 classrooms for a projected enrolment of approximately 860 students and program spaces appropriate for the K-7 grade levels.
