Leviton Receives Two Gold Cabling Innovators Awards

Leviton

October 4, 2024

Leviton announced that it was recognized among the best in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry by the 2024 Cabling Installation & Maintenance Innovators Awards. Two Gold Awards were given in recognition of Leviton Network Solutions’ carbon neutrality and sustainability initiatives, and for new Leviton OPT-X™ SDX Splice Modules. The third-party judging panel included cabling and communications system specifiers, designers, integrators and managers with vast professional experience. The awards were presented during the 2024 BICSI Fall Conference.

Leviton Network Solutions took significant strides forward in 2024 to reach the company’s goal of organization-wide carbon neutrality by 2030. In April 2024, the Leviton Network Solutions business unit achieved carbon neutral status following the BSI PAS-2060 Green House Gas Standard for the year 2023. Network Solutions’ sustainability commitments are also reflected by Leviton’s investment in clean, energy-focused carbon-offset projects, the removal of plastic waste in packaging, and the release Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for Network Solutions’ end-to-end global copper systems.

“Since our start in 1906, Leviton has grown into a global manufacturing company producing thousands of electrical and communications products,” stated Ross Goldman, Network Solutions’ Chief Operating Officer and Leviton’s Chief Sustainability Officer. “As such, we have a responsibility to minimize our own environmental impact, as well as to enable our customers to do the same – without compromising on functionality or efficacy. We made significant steps toward fulfilling our CN2030 plan in 2024, and we are excited and humbled that our company has received recognition for our efforts through Cabling Installation & Maintenance.”

Network Solutions is committed to producing new solutions that further empower customers to push the boundaries of what is possible in networking, unlocking higher levels of convenience, functionality, and speedy deployment. Leviton’s second Gold Innovators Award, awarded for our new OPT-X SDX Splice Modules, reflects their dedication to that ideal.

Part of the OPT-X SDX Fiber System, Leviton’s fiber splice modules eliminate the need for individual splice trays within a fiber enclosure and provide better organization, slack management, and protection of fibers. Beyond improving installation and maintenance, the splice modules create the least variability in performance and the best splice protection of field-terminated fiber options. With features like pre-loaded color-coded pigtails, integrated latching tabs, and patented internal shutters on LC adapters, SDX Splice Modules are uniquely tailored to help installers and network engineers simplify installation and maintenance.

“At Leviton, we are constantly on the hunt for new ways to simplify fiber network deployments,” said Brooke Ford, Senior Director of Fiber Product Management at Leviton Network Solutions. “Our new SDX fusion splice modules incorporate some truly exciting innovations from our engineering team that make deployments easier, cleaner, and higher performing.”

OPT-X SDX Splice Modules are part of the globally available, end-to-end OPT-X SDX Premises Fiber System, and are available today through Leviton’s extensive distribution network.
