EFC Scholarship Program Sets Record Awarding $120,000 in Scholarship Funding

EFC Scholarships 2015

Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) and its members have awarded Canadian university and college students $120,000 across 52 scholarships. This initiative has supported students with over $1 million in funding since the program started in 1994.
This initiative is of prime importance for the electrical and electronics industries as it provides an opportunity for EFC members to join together under a proven program. Canadian university and college students are shown the electrical industry as a viable career choice in Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Management, Operations, Information Technology, Logistics and Human Resources.

“These scholarships both encourage and support Canadian students in their studies and some members also provide exposure to our industry through internships. With an aging workforce and succession planning a priority combined with the rapid development of new technologies, it is critical to attract the best and brightest students,” said JorisMyny, Chair 2015 EFC Scholarship Program and Senior VP, Siemens Canada Ltd.

“Each year EFC and its members are committed to this initiative with 43 organizations financially involved. It also provides an opportunity for companies to meet with the student and educate on the benefits of a career in the electrical industry,” said John Jefkins, Vice President, Marketing & Communications, EFC.

The EFC Scholarship Program delivers a wide-range of offerings from manufacturers, distributors and associations. The 2015 student scholarship recipients are listed at http://www.electrofed.com/scholarships/.

The 2016 Scholarship Program will be accepting applications in February 2016.
