“Advancing to the National level is a massive achievement on its own, and we congratulate all our competitors for their success. These young people have worked hard at developing their skills for programs like these, which are changing lives and inspiring leaders through skilled trades and technologies. The future of Ontario is in good hands,” said Ian Howcroft, CEO of Skills Ontario.

Team Ontario is represented by the top competitors advancing from the 2025 Skills Ontario Competition which took place earlier in May at the Toronto Congress Centre. At the National level, these competitors competed against the best skilled trade and technology competitors from across the country.

This year is a WorldSkills Team Canada Qualifying year for the opportunity to compete to represent Canada at WorldSkills in Shanghai, China, 2026. Four team Ontario competitors from three contests received invitations to join WorldSkills Team Canada: Ethan Almeida of Centennial College (Autobody Repair), Luca Assad of George Brown College (Cooking), and Cole Hunter & Grant Maddock of Humber Polytechnic (Mechatronics). Skills Compétences Canada will make an announcement of the official members of Team Canada in the coming weeks.
