Southwire Announces Ian Rand as VP, President of Canada Business

Southwire is pleased to share that Ian Rand has joined the company as Vice President, President of Canada Business.

In this role, Rand will serve as the leader of Southwire’s Canada-based organization. He will provide oversight and guidance to the organization based at Southwire Canada’s new corporate headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario.

“Ian’s record as a leader in our sector proves his knowledge and expertise,” said Winn Wise, chief commercial officer for Southwire. “By joining Southwire, he is helping propel our momentum in this critical area of our business. I am eager to work alongside him to bring our company goals to life.”

Rand served as SVP Canada for Prysmian and General Cable from 2010-2019, before taking his most recent position as General Manager for Omnicable Canada.

An alumnus of Fanshawe College in London, Ontario, Rand currently lives in Dorchester, Ontario with his wife, Leslie. He is a father of two adult children and enjoys hockey, golf and traveling in his spare time.

“I am excited to join Southwire and look forward to working with the Southwire Canada team, the leadership team and our Canadian partners and stakeholders,” said Rand. “Together, we will continue to lead the charge in innovation and cutting-edge solutions enabling our continued growth in the Canadian market.”

Rand officially began his new position with Southwire on Monday, April 7.
