SWTCH and FLO Launch Seamless Roaming Agreement, Improving Access to Tens of Thousands of Chargers Across North America

September 18, 2025

Cross-network integration eliminates charging barriers and delivers unified access through both companies’ mobile applications

SWTCH Energy and FLO have announced a comprehensive roaming agreement. The agreement allows users of one charging network to access the other network’s stations through their existing app, eliminating the need for multiple accounts, payment methods, and apps to install.

The roaming agreement addresses a critical industry challenge: charging network fragmentation. As EV adoption accelerates, drivers face friction from different networks requiring separate apps and accounts. This complexity creates barriers to EV adoption, particularly for frequent travelers and those in multi-provider regions.

Immediate Benefits for Both User Bases

The roaming integration delivers tangible value to thousands of drivers across both networks:

EV drivers using the SWTCH or FLO app can now access tens of thousands of public chargers across North America through this roaming agreement. Drivers can use either the SWTCH or FLO app to charge seamlessly on both networks—ensuring a consistent experience at any charger.

  • Existing charging wallets and payment methods work seamlessly across both networks
  • Trip planning becomes significantly easier with expanded network visibility

“Our partnership with FLO represents exactly the kind of industry collaboration that will encourage and accelerate EV adoption,” said Carter Li, CEO of SWTCH. “Through breaking down network silos, SWTCH users now have access to more than 70,000 chargers across North America. We’re creating the seamless, integrated charging ecosystem that drivers deserve and the industry needs to reach its full potential.”

“FLO is helping to shape the future of EV charging by building one of the most extensive and reliable networks in North America,” said Louis Tremblay, President and CEO of FLO. “Through our roaming agreements, FLO members can access more than 110,000 public chargers today. Working with SWTCH strengthens that network even further, giving drivers the confidence that charging will be seamless wherever their road takes them.”

This agreement extends both companies’ commitment to network connectivity, each having roaming agreements with several other charging networks in Canada and the US.
