There has been a lot of talk about cloud computing and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) models these days but both are relatively new to the lighting industry. Let’s take a look at what they are as well as their roles in commercial lighting.

Since earlier articles in this series were based on the 23rd edition of the CEC, Part I, I have revised these articles to reflect any changes made pursuant to the 24th edition. Often, Code users encounter situations where they find themselves at odds with the rules contained in the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I (the Code).
From time to time a request is made, typically by an installing electrical contractor, to label some or all the components of a modular wiring system with the circuit ID before shipping to the job site.
This is the fourth of a series of articles detailing significant changes the Technical Committee considered the 2015 Canadian Electrical Code Part I (CE Code). The final meeting for 2015 CE Code changes took place in June of this year. The rules shown in this article are limited to changes adopted by CE Code Technical Committee and are not subject to further changes. It should be noted that until a formal memorandum of revisions to the CE Code is published by the CSA, the information provided in this article is simply based on the observations of the writer.
