Kingston Utilities is now offering a new, streamlined process for non-residential EV connections. This process follows the standardized guidelines set out by the Ontario Energy Board in the Electric Vehicle Charging Connections Guide.

The Charging Connection Guide outlines a clear, step-by-step process for connecting EV charging stations. Here’s an overview of the steps involved:

  1. Preliminary consultation
  2. Formal connection request
  3. Offer to connect (including initial economic evaluation)
  4. Project development and construction
  5. Energization
  6. Final economic evaluation
