The reception was held in the elegant Caesars Ballroom, which featured an array of food stations and elegant decor. In honour of Bill, a special video tribute was also played for the man most know as Will C.

Bill was joined at the event by numerous colleagues and family members, including his 95- year-old mother, who was beyond proud of her son and his accomplishments.

Being heavily involved in the industry, Bill served as S&D (Supply and Distribution Council) Chair from 1999-2000, as well as EFC Chair, and was the recipient of EFC’s most prestigious award, the Industry Recognition Award (IRA) among others.

Bill is a true industry icon, and is respected across the industry by peers and competitors alike.

EFC team members Carol McGlogan, Anne Harrigan, and Nathalie Lajoie were honoured to attend this commemorative event.

James Taylor, Vice President Sales & Operations, Electrozad, a Sonepar Company, says Bill is a highly respected executive and electrical industry legend who exemplified leadership and commitment.

“Fifty years is an unmatched commitment to the electrical industry and to Electrozad as our longest serving employee and President,” he says.

“Bill Smith is a great boss with a big heart. If you worked for Electrozad or were a supplier partner, Bill made sure you felt part of the Electrozad family. He led by example and treated everyone with the same level of respect, regardless of their role or position in the company.”

“For many of us in the room, Bill has provided us with great friendships, partnerships, and life-changing opportunities.”

EFC would like to congratulate Will C. on an incredible career, and wishing him a well deserved retirement. Enjoy this next chapter, with many new adventures, good health, and happiness!
