As Minister of Infrastructure (2018–2019), Monte led global consultations with private sector infrastructure leaders, expanded broadband and natural gas access, oversaw Canada’s largest subway expansion, and invested in the renovation of Massey Hall.

Monte graduated from Westervelt Business College and completed executive programs at the Richard Ivey School of Business. He learned the value of hard work growing up in his family’s Home Hardware Building Centre in Newbury, Ontario.

Monte currently serves as the Executive Vice-President at Woodbine Entertainment, where he is playing a pivotal role in leading one of Canada’s largest development projects—an ambitious initiative to create a transformative “City Within a City” that will redefine the urban landscape. In addition to his executive leadership, Monte is a corporate director, board advisor, public speaker, and the founder of MGM Strategies, a consultancy providing strategic advice to organizations.

Monte, his wife Kate, and their daughter Annie split their time between Toronto and Mt. Brydges, Ontario.
