Ideal Network’s Heavy-Duty Permanent Link Adapter Reduces Cost of Ownership

June 16, 2016

Ideal Networks has launched a new extremely durable permanent link adapter to accompany the LanTEK III cable certifier. The RJ45 permanent link adapter is smaller and designed to give superior resilience while still ensuring high performance and low cost of ownership.

The lightweight, compact size and ultra-flexible cable allows it to be used in confined spaces without damaging the permanent link adapter or the socket under test.
Ideal Networks’ new range of permanent link adapters feature centred connectors, which make them compatible with all brands of Cat6A/Class EA cabling solutions, removing the need for brand specific adapters and further cutting capital costs on network and cable testing equipment.

As part of the RJ45 permanent link adapter, Ideal has also developed field replaceable RJ45 contacts that eliminate the need to replace the complete adapter due to wear or damage, reducing cost of ownership and downtime on site, ensuring jobs are completed profitably while removing the need to pay for specialist equipment maintenance. The new permanent link adapter contacts also drive down maintenance costs by providing almost three times as many insertions than a regular patch cord before contact replacement is required.

“Cable installers are under pressure to keep equipment costs down which is why Ideal Networks offers a range of affordable optional components, such as the new permanent link adapter, that can be added to certifiers,” says Tim Widdershoven, Global Marketing Manager for Ideal Networks. “Installers can ‘mix and match’, selecting only the components that they need and don’t have to buy costly bundles of unnecessary equipment.”

In addition to permanent link adapters, optional components such as channel adapters, fibre adapters and other accessories can be added to the LanTEK III. This creates a tailored tester to suit any testing requirements while saving businesses money on excess equipment.
