Jacques Marchand represents the fourth generation to lead Marchand Electric. The company was founded in 1892. “Originally we built dams”, explained Jacques. Since then, Marchand Electric has had its part in illuminating countless Ottawa-Gatineau homes, commercial establishments, and industrial locations.

With an over 125-year history, the Marchand family has innovated and evolved over the years to maintain a leading position in the industry. AD has been part of that evolution. “We have been an AD member since the merger with IED. Joining AD has given me the tools to grow my business, with an increase in buying power and industry knowledge,” noted Jacques on the company’s AD membership.

Among the strengths that AD provides to Marchand, Jacques pointed to AD Rewards as a key element for the company and customers.

“I saw the new AD Rewards program features and it’s a great tool. It gives me a way to better engage with our customers and bring more value to them. Another selling point of AD Rewards is that it’s run by AD and it’s turnkey,” he said. Jacques added that the program is also popular with customers. It allows their sales teams to maintain communication and enhance relationships, and ultimately, he said, “It drives business.”

“AD Rewards also offers the “Inside Rewards” program. We use this program to support AD vendors and our counter staff. The staff promote AD Rewards recognized vendors products and they are compensated with AD points. We create quarterly promotions, and it works.”

At the conclusion of our interview Jacques commented, “Being an AD member has been very positive for Marchand Electric, it has given me a chance to meet vendors in person and increase my buying power. A big selling point for me is the networking opportunities and our network session. All in all, an excellent group and I’m looking forwards to our next conference.”

Today, Marchand Electric remain passionate about providing quality custom lighting solutions, as their experienced lighting and electrical professionals are continuously adding to their expertise with the most current trends and technologies. Finding creative solutions and providing superior customer care are cornerstones of their success and longevity.
