ECABC Annual Award Nominations are Open for 2026

March 13, 2026

ECABC will hand out three awards at this year’s AGM & Conference, in addition to recognizing potential new nominees to the ECABC Hall of Fame.

  • Third annual ECABC Volunteer of the Year Award
  • NEW: Community Contribution Award (Business)
  • NEW: Exceptional Achievement Award (Individual)

ECABC Volunteer of the Year Award

The Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes the outstanding contributions of an individual during the previous year (2025) to the Association. Employees of any ECABC member – electrical contractor, line utility contractor and associate member – are eligible.

This award is selected by ECABC’s staff, and approved by the Board of Directors. If you would like to request an individual be considered, please reach out directly to ECABC President Matt MacInnis (mmacinnis@eca.bc.ca).

Past Winners:

2024: Randy Noble, Houle Electric Ltd.

2023: Rob Romaniuk, Elworthy Electrical Services Ltd.

Nomination deadline: Friday, April 3, 2026.

Community Contribution Award

ECABC’s members literally build our communities and economy. ECABC also wants to celebrate some of the ways members go above and beyond to support important causes. The new Community Contribution Award is given to a company in recognition of a unique and impactful contribution an ECABC member company made to a community, nonprofit organization or charitable cause during 2025. Effort must have been coordinated and led by the company – not an individual. This is an opportunity to highlight your corporate social responsibility or community giving program. The award is open to all member types.

Evaluation Process

The judges panel consists of members of the ECABC Hall of Fame. The winner will be the project with the highest average score. Judges will abstain from scoring any project submitted by a company that they have previously worked for.

To nominate your company, please complete the application form and submit it to ECABC President Matt MacInnis (mmacinnis@eca.bc.ca).

Nomination deadline: Friday, April 3, 2026.

Exceptional Achievement Award

We’ve all worked with someone who, on an important project or at a particularly challenging time, delivered above and beyond. ECABC is giving members the opportunity to recognize a uniquely high performing individual among your peers in the electrical construction industry and the Association.

The individual could be recognized for any type of exceptional and unique contribution to the company in 2025, including but not limited to: safety, project delivery, innovation, finances, leadership, business development, human resources, support of apprentices, and more. Nominations are open to all types of employees from owners/management to new apprentices.

Nominees should be individuals who have not only done their job well, but have also clearly delivered an exceptional contribution in addition to their regular responsibilities.

To nominate an individual, please complete the application form and submit it to ECABC President Matt MacInnis (mmacinnis@eca.bc.ca).

Evaluation Process

The winner will be selected by a panel comprised of ECABC Hall of Fame members, and approved by the ECABC Board of Directors. The panel will evaluate nominees based on the content of the submission received by ECABC.

Nomination deadline: Friday, April 3, 2026.
