December 13, 2024

By Electro-Federation Canada

The Electro-Federation Canada’s Award of Excellence is a peer-recognized distinction that celebrates outstanding contributions to our industry in the areas of codes, standards, and regulations. This award is not just a recognition of technical expertise, but a tribute to leadership, integrity, and a commitment to advancing the EFC electrical and automation community.

Vladimir Gagachev of Eaton

This year, we honour a truly remarkable individual: Vladimir Gagachev of Eaton.

Vladimir has had a profound impact on the electrical industry, and the work done by EFC’s business sections. He has an unparalleled dedication to advancing the EFC member-shared mission. His colleagues, friend and EFC staff have a deep respect which Vladimir has well earned.

Vladimir has been a steadfast advisor to EFC staff and electrical community, generously sharing his deep technical expertise, his mastery of the codes and standards processes, and his invaluable strategic guidance. Whether through his work on business sections, task groups, or his role as a voting member of the CE Code Part I committee, Vladimir has consistently demonstrated his commitment to excellence.

As Chair of the EFC Technical Advisory Council (ETAC), Vladimir has not only been a guiding force but has also exemplified the values we hold dear:

  • Integrity, in all his dealings.
  • Fairness, in his approach to challenges and collaboration.
  • Passion, for codes, standards, and the electrical safety.

Following the untimely passing of Pierre Desilet, Vladimir took on the responsibility of ensuring a stable transition for ETAC, leading the council—and indeed the Electrical Federation of Canada — on solid footing for the future. His leadership has been and continues to be exemplary.

Vladimir now joins the distinguished ranks of industry giants who have shaped our codes and standards landscape, including Keith Rodel and the late Pierre Desilet. His name will forever be associated with the legacy of excellence that defines our organization.

On behalf of the entire Business Section Community, and the EFC team, there is profound gratitude for the years of service and countless contributions, and it is a privilege to present Vladimir Gagachev with the 2024 EFC Award of Excellence.

Congratulations, Vladimir!
