Canada consumed 53.8 million megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity in December 2014, 5.1% less than the same month in 2013. The decline was driven by above average temperatures in Quebec. Nova Scotia also experienced a significant drop in the demand for electricity. Year over year, electric power generation in Canada fell 3.4% year over year to 58.3 million MWh. Exports to the United States totalled 5.4 million MWh in December, 12.0% higher than the previous year, while imports shed more than a quarter of their volume to total 0.8 million MWh.
A proposal to amend the Canadian Electrical Code Part I for Ingress Protection (IP) Ratings for enclosures treated as equal in acceptance to CSA Type ratings has been voted down with the support of EFC members as well as CE Code committee members and sent back to the Sub-committee for further discussion and review.
With social distancing measures in place, thousands of Canadians have moved their offices home in the past month and are getting used to remote working; many for the first time.
Generally, the longer you work the more you make. However, this isn’t always true on a year-to-year basis. For some people, salaries dropped from 2015 to 2016.
