D&S Electric: Looking Behind Walls!

Company Profile

Mar 12, 2017

D&S Electric was founded in 1985 as a residential service provider in Williams Lake, BC and has since grown into an electrical contracting leader in the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors throughout Central and Northern BC.

D&S Electric has set itself apart by employing a highly trained and certified team of electricians, experienced estimators and project coordinators who enable the company to undertake projects of all sizes. D&S is also committed to ensuring it maintains the proper tools and equipment for every job they undertake, including the only local bucket-truck with a 50’ boom. In addition to their electrical services they place significant focus on project estimating, management and coordination in all their divisions, including Automated Controls, Data Communication and Life Safety Systems (emergency lighting).

Of note is their focus on electrical inspections. D&S recognizes that existing electrical problems are the leading cause of property damage in home structural fires. And that small appliances that are utilizing inadequate plugs or are improperly wired are the leading cause of accidental electrocution. As such they have placed significant emphasis on their residential home inspection services.

• identifying outdated wiring (aluminum or knob and tube)
• spotting electrical components and wiring that may have degraded
• recognizing oversized fuses or breakers that may lead to fire
• correcting fire and safety hazards
• allowing you to reduce costs and save energy
• meeting insurance risk assessment inspection requirements
• determining if the electrical system in a new home is safe before purchase
Included in their service are
• verification of proper light bulb wattage
• switch and wall outlet operation and condition
• shock or electrocution hazards
• verification arc fault circuit interrupters (AFCIs) are operating properly
• a check of all safety and security lighting
• confirmation of grounding systems

• testing of smoke detectors
• testing of carbon monoxide detectors
• inspection of the electrical panel for appropriate labels, amps, and operation
