  • With advanced, machine-learning protection, ReliaHome™ ELITE circuit breakers minimizes unnecessary interruptions while helping ensure home safety
  • Expands ABB’s residential portfolio, helping Canadians adopt modern, electric-ready homes

ABB has announced the launch of ReliaHome™ Flex, a modular energy management system, alongside its new generation of ReliaHome™ ELITE circuit breakers, introducing homeowners and builders in Canada to advanced solutions that make electrification more practical, reliable and safe. Together, these products expand ABB’s residential offerings, enabling Canadians to adopt modern, electric-ready homes with confidence.

Smarter home energy management without costly upgrades

Versatile and compatible with any brand of load centre, ReliaHome Flex allows homeowners to add high-demand appliances – such as EV chargers, water heaters, HVAC systems, and induction cooktops – without the need for expensive service upgrades. Managed through the intuitive ReliaHome app, it delivers real-time insights and customizable automations, giving homeowners confidence and control over their energy use.

The system is built around two core components: the Hub, which serves as the central intelligence connecting to the home’s network and managing wireless communication, and the Controllers, which install in minutes anywhere along the branch circuit without accessing the main panel. ReliaHome Flex operates independently of WiFi and ensures seamless, reliable operation even during temporary internet outages.

Next-generation protection for modern homes

Complementing ReliaHome Flex, ABB is introducing the ReliaHome ELITE circuit breakers, engineered with adaptive, machine-learning arc-fault technology to provide intelligent and reliable protection for today’s connected homes. Unlike traditional breakers, ELITE uses advanced algorithms to distinguish real electrical threats from harmless noise, reducing unnecessary interruptions while ensuring safety.

Designed with both builders and homeowners in mind, ELITE circuit breakers help minimize callbacks, enhance homeowner experience and future-proof homes by installing products that deliver quality performance with fewer disruptions.

A Future-Ready Residential Portfolio

Building on the award-winning ReliaHome Smart Panel introduced in early 2025, ABB’s expanded residential solutions now cover a wide range from circuit protection to energy management. Homeowners feel empowered and gain peace of mind, while builders and contractors benefit from reliable and intelligent solutions designed to meet the evolving demands of modern homes.

“Canada’s shift toward cleaner, electric-ready homes demands solutions that are practical and affordable. ReliaHome Flex empowers homeowners with the ability to electrify at their own pace,” said Catherine Chapleau, Division Leader, ABB Smart Power, Smart Buildings in Canada. “This launch reflects ABB’s commitment to supporting Canada’s sustainability goals with technology that helps homeowners better understand and manage their energy use.”
