Legrand Adds Non-Fusible Safety Switch to IEC 309 Product Line

March 30 2016

Legrand, a leading provider of electrical wiring devices and home systems, has added a new non-fusible safety switch to its IEC 309 industrial product line.

The new non-fusible safety switch is available in a 30 amp capacity and comes with three auxiliary contacts that provide further control circuit applications, including the ON/OFF control of pilot lights or signal for programmable controllers. The universal wiring of contacts allows for each contact to be wired either normally open or normally closed for added functionality.

“We added the three auxiliary contacts, with one top mount into the switch and one on each side to allow for additional control functions or signal lights,” says T.J. Losowski, Product Manager, Pass & Seymour. “This safety switch can still withstand the harshest industrial environments such as food and beverage facilities, water and wastewater plants and petrochemical facilities.”

This new non-fusible safety switch is a nonconductive, watertight, corrosion-, heat-, and impact-resistant thermoplastic enclosure that ensures NEMA 4X and 12K ratings. It is also UL listed as “Suitable as Motor Disconnect” per NEC Article 430.109(A)(6). There is a heavy duty, ergonomic, red switch handle that meets OSHA lockout/tagout provisions and provides plenty of grip for sure, easy operation.

The IEC 309 industrial product line also includes such products as watertight plugs, connectors, and receptacles, Flexcor wire mesh grips, IEC pin and sleeve devices, non-fusible mechanical interlocks, and Cablofil HDG and SS wire mesh trays, to name a few.
