NH Switch-Disconnector-Fuses from Rittal

May 10 2016

Switching operations on low voltage installations always bear risks. If NH switch-disconnector-fuses are operated incorrectly, the resulting arcs can (in the worst case) even endanger lives. In order to protect people and technology, fast switching operations and defined switch points are a prerequisite. The new fast switching NH switch-disconnector-fuses with Rittal fuses now provide greater safety for operator-independent switching and disconnection with one device.

Rittal has now rounded off its range of NH fuse technology with its new NH switch-disconnector-fuse. High-speed circuit breakers make the use of a switch-disconnector-fuse as easy and safe as never before.

The fuse strip is switched, with the aid of a spring, by tilting a lever, thus permitting completely operator-independent and reliable switching. The integrated snap-action mechanism with its double-break thereby ensures a rapid switching procedure and a defined switching point.

In contrast with other high-speed circuit breakers, the NH switch-disconnector-fuse is installed vertically, so permitting a comfortable line connection from either above or below. A separate cable connection and routing chamber are thus unnecessary. The vertical design also has the advantage of offering more efficient heat dissipation than a horizontal type.

No drilling is required for contacting; fastening is performed with clamping screws or alternatively with screw fasteners. It is also possible to connect different types of conductors with screw or box terminals.

Safety for the operator is ensured by the advanced contact hazard protection for the connection space, as well as the separate front and rear cover of the connection area. Connection with an electronic fuse monitoring system is another option. Increased security is also ensured by the tool-locked cover, as well as by an integrated position-indicating device.

The new NH switch-disconnector-fuses are suitable for fuses of NH00 – 3. A double-break ensures voltage-free fuse replacement.

The new NH switch-disconnector-fuses form part of the Ri4Power 185-mm system solution, and they can be combined with component adapters and NH fused-switch disconnectors.
