Litecontrol’s Inde-Pendants 32L Sets a New Standard for Decorative Fixture Design

January 25, 2017

Hubbell Lighting’s Litecontrol has introduced the Inde-Pendants 32L, a family of decorative ring and cylinder fixture combinations that provides the aesthetic appeal of discrete decorative pendants with all the benefits of LED technology.

The Inde-Pendants 32L family gives lighting specifiers and designers the flexibility to choose from three primary styles: cylinder and ring, cylinder, or ring. With the additional options built off of three styles, 11 configurations are created, adding to the versatility of the product offering.

The Cylinder includes concentric layers of light with a frosted and clear glass effect. The extruded Ring, which incorporates unique illumination technology, highlights the minimalistic form factor that houses an internal flexible LED source designed for maximum performance output.

The Inde-Pendants 32L Ring features a clean profile resulting in a distinct, scaled appearance. The Ring is available in three different diameters — 20, 30 and 40 inches — ensuring the fixture can be scaled appropriately in a wide variety of applications. Blending aesthetics and functionality, the cast aluminum joiner bracket provides structural alignment and field adjustability for fine-tune levelling and culminating in a visually pleasing fixture that performs well in any architectural setting.

“We designed the Inde-Pendants 32L to be low in profile and accommodate downlight, uplight and decorative components,” says Jeff Schoepf, Vice President of Product Development for Litecontrol. “We set out with modern architectural trends as our guide but refused to sacrifice performance for the sake of aesthetics. The end result is a fixture that complements the design ambition of the designer, the performance needs of the space and the budget of the project.”

The Inde-Pendants 32L utilizes Litecontrol’s Variable Intensity (“Vi”) Technology, which empowers specifiers to match output or power, in 50 lumen increments, to meet precise needs, be it indirect or direct output. Vi technology also provides verifiable wattage, which is critical for specifiers who need to meet performance criteria by application. The premium performance of the Inde-Pendants 32L features indirect and direct cylinder distributions, efficacy up to 118 lumens per watt and customizable lumen outputs ranging from 350 to 3,000 lumens.

A key design element of the Inde-Pendants 32L is the Power Over Aircraft Cable suspension system, a first for a Litecontrol product. “POAC” provides power for class two luminaires without the need for a secondary power cord. Implementing this technology into the fixture ensures a clean, elegant look. “Integrating power over aircraft cable technology allows the aesthetic to blend into the cylinder,” says Schoepf.
